The London Gypsy Orchestra is open to intermediate and advanced players of any instrument, from any musical or cultural background, who have a passion for Eastern European Gypsy and folk music.
Learn music by ear, explore style and phrasing, join in arranging it creatively for the orchestra and go out there and perform it - all in a joyfully inspiring, non-judgemental atmosphere.
All instruments are welcome, but we particularly need brass and bass players at the moment.
EXPECTATIONS:
Members should have confidence on their instrument, though no experience or knowledge in improvisaton, harmony, or classical training is necessary.
Practice and preparation between classes is essential
Commitment and reliability is expected
A recording device would be very useful
And most importantly - plenty of fun, passion and enthusiasm!
