The London Gypsy Orchestra is open to intermediate and advanced players of any instrument, from any musical or cultural background, who have a passion for Eastern European Gypsy and folk music.
Learn music by ear, explore style and phrasing, join in arranging it creatively for the orchestra and go out there and perform it - all in a joyfully inspiring, non-judgemental atmosphere.
All instruments are welcome, but we particularly need brass and bass players at the moment.
Members should have confidence on their instrument, though no experience or knowledge in improvisaton, harmony, or classical training is necessary.
Weekly, on Thursdays during term time, 7.30 - 9.30 pm.
VENUE: SOAS (School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London)
Main building, Thornhaugh St, off Russell Square, London WC1.
FEE: £20.00 per month £15.00 Students/concessions, FREE to SOAS Students
