May 26: Dorchester Festival, Dorset
The LGO performed for an audience of several hundred in the
sculptural 'Big White Tent', in the dramatic setting of the ancient
Maumbury Rings in central Dorchester. Following this, we played
tunes for a Balkan dance session led by Ljiljana Grkinic, all part of
the festival's emphasis on Eastern European culture this year.
We extended our Gypsy spirit to delighted co-passengers in our train
carriage on our return journey, though sadly SWT policy forbade us
from leading a dancing 'train' all the length of the train!
