2013 Events and performances:
November 16: The Wedding of the Sousaphone, Union Chapel, Highbury, London
Another exciting performance in the stunning setting of the Union Chapel, in which the Sousaphone Yoshka was dramatically and comically wedded to the Orchestra. Photos now in the Gallery.
August 24: Balkan Organ Carnival, St John's Church, Notting Hill
A thrilling concert celebrating the newly restored organ at St John’s. The church organ, played by Paul Ayres, and steel pan, played by Jenny Gilbey, joined with the orchestra in playing the LGO's traditional repertoire as well as the premiere of 'One Day in Grunistan', a new piece by Gundula Gruen. June 29: A bus stop, Hackney Central
The LGO started off this series of outdoor performances, framed by a redundant bus stop (!), organised by Hackney Council to attract shoppers to the newly-pedestrianised shopping street and help them enjoy the traffic-free and people-friendly environment.
May 4: Ederlezi concert at Cecil Sharp House
The LGO marked the spring festival of Ederlezi with a successfully exuberant concert -

March 23: Gypsy Extravaganza at South Hill Park Arts Centre, Bracknell, Berks
A very successful and enjoyable concert in the Wilde Theatre, featuring our colourful and exuberant Gypsy dance group.
From the audience: "It was the best show I've ever seen at Southhill Park" (S. Gagliano)
